CITIZENSHIP AWARDS

As we were unable to conduct our annual Night of Excellence, we have recognised student achievement this year with a Citizenship award.  Sixty students from Years 7 to 11 will receive a certificate in the mail which states that they have shown “Courage in the Year of Challenge.”

These students have received recognition for any or all of the following: academic achievement, continued effort in their  learning, positive attitude to   remote learning and community service. Congratulations to these students and to all of our students for their efforts this year.

VCE RESULTS

The VCE results will be released to students at 7am on Wednesday 30th December. Our Pathways Team has arranged interview times for each student who has made a VTAC application, to assist them with any changes they may need to make.

The interviews will be held via telephone or videoconferencing. We encourage all students to avail themselves of this opportunity to finalise their preferences. We wish all our students the very best with their results and the offers they receive.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

In 2020, we bore witness to an historic year with the corona virus pandemic affecting us all in ways we could never have imagined.  I would like to thank the Greensborough College community for the way it responded to the government directions and measures around the COVID 19 health crisis. It was a challenging time for all of us; for some it has been more difficult and trying than for others.

At the height of the health crisis as a College we communicated to families: “the most important message we can give you right now is to be kind to yourself and those you live with, you are not alone. We are here, and we are all learning how to be in this new world. Life will go back to normal, and maybe we will all appreciate our world a little more.”

As we head towards Christmas and the holiday season with joy and hope, we should pause to reflect on this year and on how we were “all in this together.” It has taught me that when things get tough there are people, structures and systems we can rely on for love, support, care and compassion to help us get through.

Take care during the holiday season, stay well and safe and enjoy what comes your way.

Principal
