From the Principal's Desk

With Mr Scott Taprell

Week 4 already, this Term is flying by. During the last three weeks,  we have managed to hold two swimming carnivals. We were fortunate to have perfect weather, which gave the opportunity for our Primary and Secondary departments to hold the carnivals and provide a fun day for the students. It’s nice to get back to some normality, something we missed last year.

We have also had our first P&C Meeting, these meetings provide a fantastic opportunity for parents to meet with some of our staff, to discuss items they may be concerned about, and to find out what is happening at the school and how they might assist. I would recommend that if you are available that you join us for these informal meetings, which occur just a couple of times a term, please come along. At the meeting we discussed fundraising, the Self Select Class in Year 9 (there will be an article about this is our upcoming newsletters), our HSC Results, the Wellbeing Hub, the Out of Home Care Facility and the Cooler Schools Project.

The next P&C Meeting is in Week 7 and will be our AGM. It will also include a session on how to engage with the technology which MCS uses to inform parents what is happening at the school.

The Wellbeing Hub info… this is coming from Gay.

This Newsletter focuses on our transition years.

Kindergarten, Year 7 and Year 11. All of these years indicate a substantial change for students and we are really monitoring how the students in these years are going so that we can assist them with the transition and help them settle in quickly to a routine which maximises learning.
