Three year old kindergarten

Our three year old kindergarten program is off to a great start! 

At the start of the year three year old kinder is all about building confidence to either separate from family or to get used to a new environment. We provide experiences that we know children of this age love, this engages them from the start and sets the scene for early social connections and for us to engage with children to build trust and relationships. 

These foundations will help us to gain a deep understanding of where each child is developmentally and what they may need from us and from the learning spaces to learn and grow. 

We spend time engaging in play with children, talking, laughing, reading stories, singing songs and playing games to support children to learn each other's names and feel a sense of belonging to the group. We introduce routines so that children understand the rhythm of their time at kinder. We are responsive to children's interests and incorporate their ideas that they either explicitly request or that they are exploring with their friends in play. For example in both Red and Green groups we are noticing a big interest in singing this year, this is prompting us to include a broad range of songs and rhymes into our group times.
