Physical Vibe News

Junior School - The students are loving the interactive fitness challenges. In recent weeks they have had to jump over bananas, duck under robots and dodge dinosaurs. We have been working on our catching skills remembering to use two hands and keeping our eyes on the object.

The students loved catching different types of objects such as scarves, foxtail dart,  bean bags, round bean bags and rubber chickens.

Middle School - The students have been working on their goal which they set in week 2. They got to choose a stamina, core strength or explosive power goal to work on during weekly warm ups. We have also begun our unit on Athletics with the shot put being the first field event covered. Many were impressed with how much lighter the shot put felt this year.

Senior School - The students had a super time at the House Swimming Carnival and will begin their fine tuning of the Athletics track and field events in the coming weeks.

House Swimming Carnival

The 2021 House Swimming carnival was an action packed day of fun in the sun. The weather was perfect as were all the students who participated on the day.

A massive thankyou to our wonderful volunteers who assisted on the day. Your continued support allows school events to run so smoothly. It was also great to see so many family members there cheering on our little people, we have missed seeing your faces.

A big round of applause to Miss Atherton and Miss Natalia who were superstars in the water managing the novelty events. I think they had just as much fun as the students.

Possibly the loudest cheers on the day were when the staff vs year 6 student relay race was held. There had been much talk from the two year 6 teams, the Floaters and the Sinkers, that they were going to ‘smash’ the Killer Whales staff team. Needless to say the staff let their swimming do the talking and came away with a victory for the ages.

All students earnt valuable house points every time they raced or competed in a novelty event. It started off as a tight contest but ended with a clear winner.

  • 4th on 69 points was Wiiny
  • 3rd on 93 points was Biik
  • 2nd on 96 points was Munmut
  • 1st on 207 points was Baany

Well done to the House captains who showed tremendous leadership  - they had their house tents buzzing with excitement and proudly led them in the singing of their house chant.

Congratulations to Arizona (4A), Nick (5A), Ben (6A), Jesse (6A), Caitlin (6A), Tye (6B) and Kade (6B) who have progressed to compete at the Casey South Divisional carnival on Wednesday 10th March. We wish them all the best and know they will do Cranbourne South proud.

The next House Sports event is the Whole School Cross Country on Wednesday 24th March. If you want some extra training come and join Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Curtois on the oval break 1 Thursdays.
