In the last couple of weeks the children at OSHC have been very interested in snails. For a week we had 8 lovely creatures join us at OSHC to watch, feed and care for, before we let them go back into their natural habitat. The children enjoyed watching the snails as they moved along the plastic aquarium walls, seeing the “waving” body of the snail as its muscles moved to pull it along.
Bubbles have also been a big hit at OSHC this fortnight, along with our continuing interest of cup towers and games! We have also been loving cooking this fortnight, making cheese straws and pinwheels to add to our late afternoon snack.
In WAC we have been continuing our love for Duplo. We have also excavated ice spheres using water, salt and spoons to try and get out natural and man-made objects that are stuck within.
Summer Holidays are approaching fast and here at OSHC we’re in the middle of planning our activities and menu for January! To make sure that we are catering to our OSHC children and families though, we would love your input!
Is there an activity that your child is always asking to do? Is there a lunch or snack option which your child would love? Is there an excursion idea that you think would be great?
Please let us know by emailing your ideas to oshc@minersrestps.vic.edu.au or talking to one of the OSHC staff in our OSHC area.
We look forward to hearing from you!
