ROUK? Day at Lake Illawarra High School

In our last newsletter, we presented the efforts of our students and staff for RUOK? Day, including our crazy sock fundraiser.

We raised $347. This money is being donated to SAHSSI (Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra).

SAHSSI is a not for profit Specialist Homelessness Service supporting vulnerable women and families in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.

Well done, Lake High.

LIHS Supports Mental Health Awareness

This month students and staff have been participating in the Black Dog Institutes fundraiser ‘One Foot Forward’. October is the National Mental Health Month and this campaign aims to create awareness about mental illness by showing people with mental illness that we’re in this together and that they don’t walk alone. Funds raised will help Black Dog Institute put ground-breaking new mental health tools that work into the hands of people who need them. So far the Lake Illawarra High School Team has raised $1593!

Well done Lake High! Keep up the good work and get out walking.
