TAS NEWS

Reporters: Tori Henderson (Year 7) & Chae Conte (Year 7)

In Week 2, guest teachers from around NSW were completing a Virtual Reality Welding course. Our school will receive two brand new WR welding machines, valued at 42,000 each! These machines are a fantastic resource for LIHS, as it is better for the environment and will reduce the amount of metal waste produced by students. The machines also assess your welding, give you a score, and information on how to improve.

Tori and Chae were lucky enough to try out these VR welding machines. Watch their welding attempts in the video below!

The Year 11 Hospitality students were also hard at work, as they were putting on morning tea and lunch every day this week for our guest teachers. Hospo students have created a new menu for each day of the week and have opened up the outdoor patio of the Tree Tops Cafe.

Take a look at our hardworking Hospitality students in the video below!

Master Chef in the Harbour Centre

Reporter: Tori Henderson (Year 7)

In Week 10 of Term 3, the Harbour Centre held a Master Chef cooking competition. It involved a series of cooking rounds with Mr Hicks, Mr Meizer and Mr Wilson as the judges.

Each class had at least one representative as well as one teacher and presented different meals before the judges. The judges were blown away by the meals cooked by our students in the Harbour Centre.

As you can see in the video below, the judges clearly had a great time tasting the amazing dishes. The classes made dishes from many diverse backgrounds and cultures. Congratulations to B11 classroom for being voted as the winners!
