Assembly - Week 7
Our Assembly this week is from our Class of 2020. Our Yr 6's share some of their special memories about our school. We are so proud of all of them and all that they have achieved in their time at SFS. They have had a challenging year with all the restrictions, but despite it all they have persevered, formed close friendships and kept going with their learning. They have been great role models. We look forward to celebrating their achievements at their Graduation on 10th December. It will be a little different this year but we will make it extra special. Their is a FUN day planned at SFS on Monday 14 December. We wish Our Class of 2020, the very BEST for their last few weeks at SFS.
Our Deepest Condolences
The school community of St Francis de Sales are deeply saddened to hear that Brad Scicluna lost his courageous battle and peacefully passed away on Saturday 14th November. We are united in prayer for Catherine, Olivia (Past pupil of SFS) and Charlotte (Home group AL) and their family at this time. We wrap our arms around you and your family. The funeral for Brad will be held on Monday 23rd November.
May eternal rest grant unto Brad, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.

2020 St Francis de Sales Digital Art Show

2020 has thrown up many challenges however in the true spirit of our St Francis de Sales
community, we have persevered and shown resilience to overcome obstacles and prevail.
This Digital Art Show is one example of what we have been able to achieve together!
Our brilliant SFS students have produced some amazing art pieces despite the pandemic and remote learning and all the ways 2020 has challenged us!! Children have been able to present items in most of the categories for their group.
However bringing this together virtually to your home, would not be possible without the
brilliant coordination and creative talents of Louise our Art specialist teacher, Tammy our
Digital Technology specialist teacher for her technical expertise to create the platform and
constant support, Rosie for the extra help provided, along with the assistance of our
passionate staff. Many hours of voluntary, above and beyond work behind the scenes has
generously been given and I am so grateful to our amazing staff of 2020 for this great
achievement.
The Art Show is a celebration of our children, our staff and our school community. I know
that browsing through the art pieces will fill you with pride and happiness at what our young STARS have achieved.
The SFS Digital Art Show is one of our special treasures, a pot of GOLD at the end of the
rainbow in our 2020 school year!! So get ready, get comfy in a favourite place with your
favourite snacks, favourite drinks to celebrate our SFS children and enjoy our first ever St

Orientation for 2021
Our Prep orientation program is now coming to an end after orientation sessions and information sessions all online via ZOOM and Google Meets. There is one more session planned for the children to meet their Home Group teacher for 2021. This will take place on Friday 11 December 2020. Prep children will meet their Home Group teacher and have a little tour. The groups can only be 10 or less. Times will be emailed to parents by the end of November.
Our Year 1 to Year 6 students for 2021 will have an orientation session on Tuesday 15 December from 9:30-10:30. at this session they will meet their 2021 Home Group teacher.
Start of school for 2021
Wednesday 27 January 2021 - School Office opens and staff return
Thursday 28th January 2021 - Staff Professional Development Day
Friday 29th January 2021- Preps ONLY commence school for 2021.
Monday 1st February 2021 - Yr 1-6 Commence School for 2021.
Friday 5th February 2021 - SFS Twilight Picnic 6pm - 8pm.
