Term 4 2020
During Term 4 the Dromana College community took part in an Interschool sport challenge. Students, staff and parents were outstanding in their efforts to raise money for Mental Health Research.
This October, Dromana College raised funds for mental health research. 1 in 5 people in Australia live with mental illness, more than 60% of people living with a mental illness won't seek help. But by taking part in One Foot Forward, we are able to help fund vital support services for those who need them most, as well as life-changing research into prevention and treatment of mental illness.
The challenge was between our local schools and was similar to the staff vs students walking/running/riding challenge where the most kilometres wins. This time however it was the most kilometres win and at the same time money was raised. Participants activity (run, walk or ride) was recorded by their Strava/Fitbit apps or logged in manually.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined and supported "Team Dromana" in the Inter-school Sport "One foot forward challenge". Team Dromana raised $6,019 for Mental Health awareness and research. This is a huge effort and we are thankful for every dollar.
