Year 12 Graduation, Wednesday 2 December 2020

The Nazareth College Class of 2020 will have their Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 2 December 2020, commencing with professional photographs from 3.00 pm at the College.   The Graduation Ceremony commences at 5.00 pm and will conclude at 7.00 pm.  Students are to be at the College by 3.30 pm in full school uniform including blazers.   Due to COVID-19 Restrictions, parents/guardians are not allowed to be present at the Ceremony, but the College has organised for this most significant event to be streamed live on YouTube.  The link and password have been sent to the Year 12 parents/guardians.

Students are to be collected from the College by parents/guardians at 7.30 pm (parents/guardians to remain in their cars and the students will come to you)  and as we are not able to have the usual shared meal, we encourage families to celebrate this significant occasion together with a meal following the Graduation.   If you have any questions about the Graduation, please contact Ms Murphy at the College.   We are looking forward to a great night and, due to the generosity of the NCCA,  we have some special gifts for the students this year given 2020 has been such a challenging year for the Year 12 cohort.

Fast Start

During the last week of school our Year 10 and 11 students will participate in VCAL classes and VCE lectures in preparation for their 2021 school year.   The VCAL students will be present for the normal school day on Monday 30 November  2020 and  Tuesday 1 December 2020 and will finish at 1.10pm on Thursday 3 December 2020.

VCE students will not have morning Homeroom on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the last week of school.   They need to attend their VCE lectures and are required at school for their first lecture of the day and are allowed to leave the College after their last lecture for the day.   If students have a gap in between lectures they are to remain on campus until they have finished their final lecture.

All students in the College will have morning homeroom on Thursday 3 December 2020.

Start of School Year 2021

Looking ahead to 2021, school commences for Years 7 and  12 students on Thursday 28 January 2021 and for Years 8, 9, 10  and 11 students  on Friday 29 January 2021.

The Last Week of School 2020

After an interrupted year, our desire more than ever is for students to continue to grow as learners until the end of the year.   Holidays start for students at 1.10 pm on Thursday 3 December 2020 and we expect all students to be attending school and working to the best of their ability during the last days of the school year.

Thank You

Finally, a big thank you to all students, staff and parents/guardians for their great flexibility, hard work, team work and resilience during this 2020 year.   It has been amazing what we have been able to achieve together.

I hope all families in our community are able to have a great break, get some good rest and family time. I also pray that the celebration of the birth of the Christ Child brings peace, joy and love to you and your family.

Have a great break and we look forward to working with you in 2021.

Mr Justin Duckett
