Junior School Sport News

News and Reports

Summer Sport began last week with students participating in Cricket, Teeball, Touch Football, Mini Tennis, HIIT and Learn to Swim for Year 2 with students having a fun time getting some exercise and playing games with their friends in the afternoon sun.

I would like to thank staff and parents for their support and understanding as we continue to navigate our way through the compliance issues we face in this new age of COVID. It is difficult when operating a school but participating in local competitions who are governed by a different set of compliance regulations. This is highlighted in the position the school has had to take with regard to banning cricket spectators on school grounds this season.

Our thanks is extended to the ODJCA committee for adjusting the draws and fixtures to ensure that our teams have an equal opportunity to perform in front of their parents.

A reminder to everyone in all sports that hats, sunscreen and water bottles should form part of your essential personal kit.

Cricket Under 11 Report

Our Under 11 cricketers had a close game last Thursday with the result decided on the last ball of their T20 match, losing by only two runs the boys played well for their first game of the season.

Cricket Under 12 Report

The U12 team put up a valiant fight on Saturday and outperformed their opponents with running between wicket, however loose bowling amounted to a hefty tally of sundries which ultimately became the difference between the two teams. With a bye scheduled for this weekend there is time for the boys to work on their bowling before the next game.
