Cultural Garden Planting

On Tuesday, Brendan helped us to plant out the cultural garden with the plants we purchased when we visited the Indigenous nursery. Chloe, Bungarie, Malakye and Jayden (four of our Year 6 Koorie Leaders) worked together as a team to get it done. It was hard work, but it was also fun. We had to get the soil and the compost (which was kindly donated by Mr McKenna, from Midfields) and move it to the garden using the wheel-barrows. Then we had to prepare the area for the plants and add the water crystals and fertilizer. After we planted it all we had to water each plant. In the end, it looked really good. We will need to keep watering it, unless it rains a lot. We look forward to watching it grow. Thank you to Mr McKenna and Brendan, for their help with our garden!

Prep and Year 6 Buddies

Prep B and 6C began buddies sessions this week. The prep students loved talking to the Year 6 buddies. They played a getting to know you game before the Year 6 students assisted the prep students with their decodable readers and their sounds. They then had fun drawing for a few minutes at the end.
