Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Loving God,

You call us to new life in Christ Jesus with a love that is real and sincere. In this, the season of Lent, strengthen us to learn from Jesus’ example and teach us to be faithful disciples with Jesus as the centre of our lives.

Amen.

Reconciliation

Next week some children in Years 2 and 5 will be receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation. The children are well prepared and have gained, through their preparation, a greater understanding of the importance of peace and forgiveness in their lives, particularly in this the season of Lent. Thank you to Fr. Michael, teachers and families for their support in preparing the children as they continue their faith journey.

2024 Parent Information Morning

Next Tuesday 28th March an information session will be held in the school library from 10.00am-11.00am. The meeting is aimed at prospective new families in 2024, but existing families are most welcome to attend. Topics covered will be specialist programs, mental health and wellbeing initiatives and strategies for helping parents prepare their child for school from our speech pathologist, Jo McCartin. If you have any family or friends looking to enroll their child at a school next year, please pass on this information. If you are intending on attending, please inform the school office.

Kana Festival

Last weekend our local community celebrated the annual Kana Festival. Our school participated, with the theme being ‘Circus’. A big thank you to Deb Holland for organizing the float. It was great to be involved and connect with our local community.

National Ride to School Day

This Friday the 24th of March is National Ride to School Day.

MIXX FM is riding from primary school to primary school on a tandem bike starting at 7.30am from Colac West Primary. They are also giving students the chance to win a brand new bike. All children need to do is find Lippi and Jimmy who are broadcasting live on MIXXFM Brekky, take a photo with them and post it in the comments section on their Facebook site.

Note that children are not to have mobile phones at school unless arranged, so if you want to get the photo, parents and children may have to track Lippi and Jimmy down while travelling between schools.

This is a great initiative encouraging students to get out and about and be active and healthy.

School Sports

Next Friday is our annual school sports day to be held at the Lake Oval. This is a fun filled day for the whole school community. We are looking for some parent volunteers to cook the BBQ so please contact the school office if you are able to assist.

Long Service Leave

Next Friday 31st March will be my last day of the term. I will be on leave, returning week 2 of next term. If the need arises, please refer any matters to Judy, Jodie or Paula in my absence.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
