Middle Unit -2/3

It's been a busy fortnight in the middle units.

Last week were visited by Tom from the Royal Flying Doctors Service. He bought in his plane and students were able to sit in the cockpit and pretend to fly the plane. Students also enjoyed a paper aeroplane making competition.

Over two separate Thursdays, the MU students have participated in the AquaAware Water safety circuit. We are incredibly proud of how the WPS students conducted themselves in and around the pool. A big thank you to all of our parent helpers.

During our reading lessons, we have been focusing on fluency and phrasing, as well as vocabulary building. We have been reading a range of books in class, as well as during our independent reading time.

For writing, we have been working on our draft procedural pieces. Students will be working on a special project (stretching into next term for most classes) where they will write a procedural piece and demonstrate the procedure to the class. We are looking forward to these oral presentations.

In our maths lessons, we have been looking at 2D shapes. Alongside this topic, students worked on a beautiful tessellated art piece. It was a challenge to create the templates, but once we began to tessellate our templates, the students were extremely proud of their efforts.
