Religious Education 5/6 FA

Mr Anania

During the past few weeks in Religion, students in 5/6 FA have been learning about prayer. Students discussed and explored the many places where people pray and why prayer is important in people's lives. Students then wrote their own prayers using the 5 Finger Prayer method, where each finger on a hand represents someone or something to pray for. To finish the unit on Prayer, both the senior classes went on an excursion to a Jewish Synagogue and St Patrick Cathedral, both in East Melbourne to compare the places of worship in different religions.

Below are some reflections from 5/6 FA students about their learning of prayer:

"It was great to see the difference between a Jewish Synagogue and a Catholic Church" Hugo

"I enjoyed writing prayers about the people who are important to me in my life" Lucy B
