Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Another great week at Trinity has passed with all the usual learning occurring throughout each day. As our children have now settled into their classroom routines and are beginning to adjust to their new year levels our teachers will focus more on each child's learning needs and where they are at, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Formal and informal individual student asessment is an ongoing process which our teachers use to ensure children are supported and challenged in their learning.

As you are probably aware the NAPLAN tests will soon be administered across the country for students in Years 3, 5,7 & 9. These tests can, at times, cause some anxiety for some children and so it is imprtant for all of us to ensure the message we give to our children is that they just try their best and that these tests are only one measure of their achievement in specific areas and are by no means an overall measure of how well children are doing at school.

School Masterplan

In 2019 a whole school Masterplan was conducted and many parents may recall conversations and ideas being shared as part of that process. Unfortunately due to our two years of COVID the plans were put on hold, however, I feel it is time for us to re-look at the plans to determine what building improvements may be possible and of course would be the priority.  I will be calling on further parent input as we begin to look at the plans and explore the next steps if this is to become a possibility for our school.

Multicultural Family Night

Our family evening is just a few weeks away now and for all those who have been part of this special evening before you are aware of what a great night it is for our school community. In the coming weeks we will communicate more about what the night will look like, times etc and a hope that every one of our families is able to attend.

Please note Mr Ru's Help Needed Page in today's newsletter. This survey is an important part of giving parents and students a voice in aspects of our school improvement.

Prayer:  A Prayer for Our Earth

All powerful God, you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor, help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction. Touch the hearts of those
who look only for gain at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to recognize that we are profoundly united
with every creature as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle for justice, love and peace.
Pope Francis,
Laudato Si

Trinity Parent and Friends

The Parent & Friends volunteers at Trinity School have been keeping busy lately, and we would greatly appreciate any donations or time you can contribute to our upcoming events.

Here's what you need to know about these events:

Trinity Primary School Fete:

April 1st from 9am to 3pm

We're in the final stages of planning this amazing event and we still need plenty of volunteers to help out before and during the fete. Please take a look at the signup sheets that are circulating and touch base with Salli (Indigo's mum in Prep CM) over the coming weeks.

Tombola Jars: One of our student stalls will feature a lucky dip and tombola drawer. We're collecting glass jars and lids for this activity, so please start saving them and get creative with your fillings! You can put anything that's not perishable in the jars, from arts and crafts to lollies, homemade bircher mix, buttons, sewing kits, and little toys (to name a few ideas). Please drop off your completed jars at the office.

Hairy Friends Grass Head Pots: Another class stall will be selling Hairy Friends grass head pots. If you have any stocking or pantyhose donations, please drop them off at the office.

Bake Sale: Leonie Fuller (Max and Jacob's mum) is leading our bake sale efforts. Please sign up on the baking pledge spreadsheet (see below)  if you're able to contribute, and let Leonie know if you're available to help on the day.

Homebaked Goods Donation

PA System: If you have a portable PA system that we can use for the fete, please let us know.

Easter Raffle: April 6th

We're now accepting donations for our end-of-term Easter Raffle! Please drop off your donations at the office. Thank you in advance for your support!
