From Marie

TERM 1 - Marie Beale

The term is quickly coming to an end with Thursday 6 April our final day for the term. School finishes at 2:30pm on that afternoon, with the Easter Raffle Draw and plenty of goodies to go home.  We want to wish you all a very safe and restful holiday, returning on Monday 24 April ready for a busy start to Term 2.

Special visitors popped by last week

Well look who came to visit last week.  Kai and Freddy brought their mums, and dads, along to see us all before the end of term.  Fours weeks old and both babies are doing really well.  Our Grade 1 and Grade 6 students were delighted to see them!

Harmony Day

We have a special page in this newsletter with photos from Harmony Day yesterday.  We would especially like to thank the Persian families at our school for coordinating a presentation to the whole school.  It was wonderful to see and hear about the traditions of Haft-sin as a welcome to the new year.  We were also treated to some Bollywood dancing that got everyone up on their feet dancing.

Fundraising activities

This week we have been humbled by two very generous donations to our playground fund by one of our current families and a future student's family.  Thank you so much for your generosity and helping to bring this playground to reality.  Our fundraising activities continue as we move closer to having our playground in place:

  • Tomorrow is the final day to bring in the Hot Cross Bun orders and our special 60th Anniversary Brick Pavers orders.
  • Easter raffle tickets - due back on Wednesday 5 April
  • Donations of Easter themed gifts - including eggs, are due in by Wednesday 5 April
  • Super 'Stan' (Hero) Free Dress day on Thursday 6 April, gold coin donation

Thank you for everyone's generous support of the school, it is very much appreciated.

Foundation 2024

This week was a busy week for our prospective Foundation families.  We had information night and and open classroom session where we welcomed families to come along and hear about our school program and spend some time in the classrooms.  We also conducted school tours and have a Saturday morning tour coming up this weekend. Make sure you let your friends and neighbours know that we are running tours and taking enrolments for next year.  If you have a younger child ready to start school next year then please pop into the office and collect an enrolment form.

Long Service Leave

I will be taking four weeks of long service leave at the beginning of Term 2.  I am due to return to school on Monday 21 May. In my absence Jenny Verheijden will be Acting Principal and will undertake my duties.  I wish you all a great start to Term 2 and look forward to returning to hear all about... well everything really.  Take care and I will see you late May.

I wish you all a safe holiday and I will see you when I return from New Zealand.
