Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hi Families,

Some big weeks at the school have come and gone, with the completion of our Departmental School Review.   I am happy to share with the community that the department delivered a glowing report of the school, its teaching and learning, staff, culture, and direction.  Of note, the school received outstanding feedback regarding our structures and programs in the delivery of student academic support and interventions.

NAPLAN has taken center stage across the country this week and next week, and as our grade 3 and 5 students undertake this journey we have been so proud of our student's efforts and attitude to this process.

With term 1 quickly passing us by, this a timely reminder that our last day of Term for students is Wednesday the 5th of April with a 2:30 finish.

House Athletics

Next Friday, the 24th of March is our House Athletics day. This is hosted at the school and has our 4 houses, battling it out in a range of events they have been practicing across Term 1 in their PE classes.

Please see the schedule of sports day events.

Parent /spectators are welcome and in previous years make for a wonderful atmosphere on the day.

There are a few important logistics to keep in mind ahead of the Athletics Carnival;

After the winning house is announced in the afternoon, students may be dismissed from school to go home with their parents. Students will need to check in with their teacher before departing so we get everyone home safely.

As a school event, during the day, students are under the supervision and care of teachers supervising their activity/event. It’s important they are following instructions and participating in all events.

The conduct of spectators as an in-school event is really important. The event must be smoke-free, alcohol-free, dog free and spectators must attend with the view they are there to observe their children participating in a school event.

As per school policy, photography of your children is permitted, however, we request parents/carers, who photograph, film, or record school activities only do so for their own personal use and do not publish the images in any form, including on social media, without the prior consent of persons whose children also appear in the images.

 House Aths is always a great day and we’d love to have a big crowd spectating their children!

Cyber Safety Session with Susan Mclean

Parents are invited to attend a free information session hosted at the school next Wednesday night the 22nd of March at 6:00 pm.   We warmly encourage parents to consider attending this informative session.  Susan is a highly renowned speaker and advocate for cyber safety, who works nationwide.
