Music News

Every Friday assembly at Trafalgar Primary School starts with a student musical act. The students choose their songs and practice in the music studio at recess and lunch. The bands are formed by the students themselves. Their performances are self driven and self motivated by the students with preparations only guided by Mr Allan and the instrumental teachers.

Divisional Tennis

On Monday the 3rd of April, Amaan S and Jarryd W attended Drouin Tennis Club to represent Trafalgar Primary School at the West Gippsland Divisional Tennis tournament. After playing a few matches against students from other schools, they were then matched up against each other! They managed to put on a fantastic game of tennis for all the spectators, and represented our school proudly throughout the day.

Regional Lawn Bowls

On Tuesday the 4th of April, 24 students attend the Traralgon Bowls Club to compete in the Gippsland Regional Lawn Bowls competition. In fantastic weather conditions, our teams competed against schools from as far away as Lindenow and Cowes to see who would take home the title of Gippsland Champion. Although neither of our teams took home the championship, the manner in which they played and conducted themselves was highly impressive and is something that we were very proud of as a school.

AFLX Tournament

On Wednesday the 5th of April, 80 students from across Gr 3-6 attended Moe Racecourse to compete in an AFLX tournament. Spread across a huge number of fields on the day, Trafalgar Primary School entered 9 teams across 3 divisions. Our school was fortunate enough to have a girls team and a boys team win their division on the day and progress to the semi-finals. We would like to congratulate these students on their achievements and recognise the impressive manner in which they represented our school during the tournament.

District Sports

On Thursday the 30th of March, 52 students attended Geoff Watt Track in Warragul to compete against other schools from the Warragul District across a variety of athletics events. However, despite our student’s eagerness to compete, some very poor weather quickly made a mess of the track. Before long, rain and mud were everywhere and the event had to be cancelled. District Athletics has now been rescheduled to Wednesday the 26th of April (First day of Term 2). Competing students will be contacted by the school.
