Staffing Update

Welcome back Mr Bolger and congratulations! We are so pleased to have Mr Bolger back in 3/4A after 4 weeks of paternity leave following the birth of his beautiful new baby, Mackenzie! Congratulations to both Dom and Nikki - we cannot wait to meet your new baby girl!

Next week will be Dave Joseph's last week at MPS as next term, we welcome back Claire Gilbert from family leave. Dave has made an outstanding contribution to the SAKG program, particularly with the relocation of the garden. Thank you so much for all of your work in this space Dave!

We also say goodbye and a heartfelt thanks to Natalie Hattam for running the First-Aid room for the past two terms. We wish Nat the very best with her future endeavours.

Michelle Barber will be overseeing the First-Aid room - thank you, Michelle, for your willingness to take on this role.

And we wish goodbye (for now) and good luck to Mrs Clancy who is expecting her third child in May. All the very best, Sam - we can't wait to meet the next addition to the Clancy family very soon!

Building/s update - BIG NEWS!!

Most of you are aware of the long and arduous journey (4 years in the making) to gain funding for the new Multipurpose/STEM space. The past 18 months has been spent mostly in the design phase, which incorporated the renovation of our current hall to create a staff/resource room that would meet our needs. Unfortunately, as a result of many factors, this part of the new build was retracted as the scope of the entire build needed to be further reduced.

This was a huge blow for our staff, as our current staff room was built to house approximately 12-15 adults, not the 42 staff members that we have in 2023. We received this disappointing news late October of last year, so with the help of School Council, we set to work to lobby Vicki Ward again, (our local MP).

And.... it paid off - see correspondence below!

Once the main build is complete, works will begin on the current hall conversion and as a result, our staff will have a beautiful space to collaborate and connect with each other. Needless to say, we are THRILLED with this result!

School Review Information

The Leadership team has been working extra hard this term completing the Pre-Review Self-Evaluation. This has now been submitted in preparation for our School Review which is happening across weeks 2 and 3 of next term.

School Review basics…

All Government schools must participate in a school review every 4 years. The review has two main functions:

  1. Providing assurance of ongoing compliance with the minimum requirements for school registration.
  2. Informing the development of the school's 4 year School Strategic Plan.

Pre-Review Self-Evaluation basics…

Every four years, schools undertake a Pre-Review Self-Evaluation process in the term before their review, this acts as a ‘springboard’ for every school review.

The Performance Group that schools are placed in, based on their most recent School Performance Report, dictates the length and depth needed for the review. The 5 Performance Groups, and their explanations, are shown in the graphic below, please click on it to enlarge.

In Montmorency Primary School's 2022 School Performance Report, we were tagged as an 'Influence' school. This is the highest level at which a school can be placed and it is something about which we are very proud. Again, click image to enlarge.

Not only is this a wonderful achievement by itself, but it is even more notable when looking at the build-up to this level over the last few years. See below:

2013: Transform level (low level of performance)

2018: Renew level (static performance)

2019: Renew level (static performance)

2021: Stretch level (improving performance)

2022: Influence level (high/very high performance)

This shows just how much hard work the entire school has put in to get us to such a strong position. Well done to all!
