'Creating Futures Together'

Year 10 – Work Experience

(Monday 19th June – Friday 23rd June)

Year 10 students should be well on their way to securing a work experience placement.  A Work Experience Kit was distributed to both students and parents several weeks ago with the purpose of supporting each student with the job search process.

A reminder that the Work Experience arrangement form and the Work Experience COVID19 form can be accessed via our Careers Website (www.whsccareers.com) under the Workplace Learning/Required Documents tab.

To be able to undertake a placement all Work Experience documentation including the relevant OH&S certificates must be submitted to Futures teachers by 4th May 2023

Year 12 – Career counselling Meetings

The month of March signifies

the beginning of the year 12 one to one Career Counselling meetings.  These meetings occur throughout the year and are completed by early September. During these meetings the following takes place for each student:

  • Review/update Career Action Plan
  • Discuss VCE/Career goals
  • Talk about career interests, passions, abilities & strengths
  • Investigate some course options/career pathways via VTAC, Career/Apprenticeship websites
  • Discuss SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme) & the benefits
  • Develop an action plan that will assist with making informed decisions and bring student closer to achieving their goals/aspirations

Wheelers Hill Secondary College is passionate about ‘Creating Futures Together’.  I look forward to getting to know each student in more depth and assisting them with achieving their goal(s).
