Year 9 Geography
Excursion to Rayner’s Orchard
On Friday 24 February, Year 9 Geography students ventured beyond the four walls of the classroom, bringing to life the curriculum they study in class.
They spent the day at Rayner’s Orchard in the Yarra Valley, bottling fruit, eating seasonal fruit fresh off the tree and had some fun on a tractor ride. Students also observed and recorded how the land, over time, had been modified for food production, while on a guided tour by Len the farmer.
The day was a great success in learning how our food is produced, and we returned home with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
