Principal's News

Dear Families

And just like that, Term One is almost at an end. It has been a rapid but very successful term and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our students for their work and effort this term. Term One concludes next Thursday 6th April at 1:00pm (with Friday being the Good Friday Public Holiday). We will end the term with our special Easter Liturgy to be held on the main playground at 9:00am. Students will be retelling the Easter story through music dance and drama, with classes having been practicing with Mrs Del Castillo in Performing Arts lessons.

Congratulations to our Year Six students for a successful and action-packed Canberra Camp. Thank you to Mandy Lemons, Max Reid, Toni Nichols, Daliah Mcloughney and Marie Hird for accompanying the children on the camp and providing them with this terrific opportunity to explore our nation's capital.

Monday 24th April will be a school closure day for staff professional learning, with all staff undertaking professional learning in neurodiversity. Neuroscience more and more influences our understanding of how the mind works and therefore has revolutionised our understanding of how children learn best. All our staff will be further developing their professional skills in ensuring our learning environments are adaptive to the needs of a diverse range of students.

Tuesday 25th April will be the ANZAC Day Public Holiday. Students will commence Term Two on Wednesday 26th April

Sadly, the weather prevented us from holding our St Mary's Athletics Carnival this week. However we have been fortunate to secure a new date at Sandringham Athletics Track for  the first day of Term 2 for students, Wednesday 26th April. Thank you to Sam Sullivan our Sports Coordinator for all the background work in organising this day.

Wishing all members of our school community a wonderful and safe Easter and school holiday period.
