We are pleased and excited to announce that COHR has been given an invitation to participate in ELLA in 2023. ELLA stands for Early Learning Languages Australia.  It is an Australian Government initiative which encourages and enhances the learning of a language other than in English. ELLA is a play-based program that introduces children to learning new languages via interactive tablet apps. The apps are fun, simple to use, and can be easily incorporated into our current school programs. 

The Polyglots are a cast of characters who introduce the students to words, sentences and songs in Italian. The apps draw on the interests and activities of children, such as celebrations, cooking experiences, art activities, building and role-play.

This program will be offered to all children in Prep to Year 2 at COHR this year.

I look forward to sharing some exciting Italian learning with you once we commence the program. An information pamphlet will be sent home to Junior school parents outlining more details about the program. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions about the program. We are currently setting up the program using our school’s digital devices and we hope to have it up and running by the end of the term.

ITALIAN DAY 2023

YEAR 5/6 STUDENT VOICE

The year 5/6 have been busy planning our Italian Day. They have been given the opportunity to have their say in what Italian day should include this year by researching possible activities and incursions. Stay tuned for more about this day. All students can start thinking about how they might like to come dressed on the day that represents Italy.
