LIBRARY NEWS

Our students are certainly getting in to the swing of borrowing and returning.  Many students are asking to borrow 2 or 3 books which is extremely pleasing.  If students forget to return their books on their designated Library day, they can bring them the next day or any day as myself, Lorraine or any teacher can assist them with borrowing.

Thank you to students who have library bags, these help protect our books and keep them in good shape for the next borrower.  We do have spare bags if students forget, can we please ask that these are returned so we have a supply on hand. Many Thanks.

Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge has officially just begun in March.  COHR participates in this  every two years.  We are currently registering and setting up accounts for all students and will share their log in details with you and them over the next few weeks. The Challenge encourages all students across Victoria to read and record thier books and strive to reach the designated amount depending on what year level they are in.  The PRC goes until September. Prep - 2 students need to read / listen to 30 books and 3 - 6 students need to read 15 books.  Our 3 - 6 students have been encouraged to record their books they have read since the beginning of Term 1 so they will be able to add those books next term. Our P - 2 students can start to keep records of books they are reading from now on and they can add any books they have read in Term 1 as well.  Books that are read in the Library and in class will be added to their accounts as well.

More information will follow in the next few newsletters. For now, just keep reading and writing down the books that have been read.

Scholastic Bookclub at COHR

Scholastic Book Club, Issue 2 is out now.  Please make orders by Monday 20th March at the latest.

We thank our volunteer Mums - Anna & Agnes  for coordinating these orders for the past few years - and welcome Venetia & Stacy who have volunteered to take over the running of Book Club.  We are very grateful to our supportive parents.  Thank You
