Learning Books

Student Mathematics books will be sent home at the end of Week 8 to assist parents to celebrate their child’s engagement in learning. Student work samples across the Curriculum Areas serve as a form of formative assessment identifying student strengths and areas for growth.

Parents are encouraged to view their child’s work and discuss the mathematical concepts and strategies they have been learning.

Mobile Phones and Parent Communication

Parents, please remind your child that all mobile phones must be left at the office each morning and collected at the conclusion of the school day. This includes smartwatches.

It is important that parents are not communicating with their child via email throughout the day during learning time. Important messages are to be communicated through the school office.

Students Arriving Late to School

The school day officially commences at 8.55am. Any student arriving after this time must be signed in by a parent/carer at the school office.  Many students are arriving very early in the morning. Parents are reminded that supervision commences at 8.20am.

Open Classrooms

Over the next two weeks, parents are invited to visit their child’s/children’s classroom to view the wonderful learning that is taking place at Our Lady of Fatima. An invitation has been shared via COMPASS outlining the dates and times for each year, Kindergarten to Year 6. Parents are reminded that this is not a time for a conversation about student progress.

Car Lines

Parents are asked to remind their child/children not to walk between cars when exiting their car on carlines due to the safety risks. Students are to use the pedestrian crossing supervised by teachers.  Please refrain from opening car boots automatically with cars stopping closely behind. Students are encouraged to have their school bag in the vehicle.
