Australia Day

It was encouraging to see our students giving up their time and Term One hadn’t even started. Sixty students volunteered to support the Rotary Club of Bendigo Sandhurst by setting up, selling cold drinks and packing up the Australia Day Celebrations at the Bendigo Jockey Club. 

It was an early start and a very hot afternoon but the students' smiling faces confirmed they were happy to be back doing Community Service once again.

Students are encouraged to read their emails and keep a lookout an Astra to stay informed of the next Community Service activity they can volunteer for.

If a student would like a Community Service activity they are involved in recognised and it is not organised by the school, they are encouraged to contact the Head of Community Service with the details.  A signed form should be submitted if the student would like it acknowledged on their report and have it contribute to the award of Colours.  This can be accessed via the Community Service page on Astra HERE.
