Year 5/6

Last week the School Captain Candidates (Joshua, John, Julian, Ahan, Caitlin, Ria, Ayisha and Isabelle) participated in a 'Question & Answer' session with the Year 2, Year 3/4, Year 4/5 and Year 5 students. They are all excellent candidates and it will be hard to choose.

The students come up with some great questions to ask our budding School Captains, who thoughtfully answered the questions. Students from Y2 to Y5 will have the opportunity to vote for their School Captain.

School Captains

And it is with pleasure that we announce the School Captains for 2022.

Isabelle and Julian will be School Captains and Caitlin and John will be Vice Captain.

Congratulations and well done Isabelle, Julian, Caitlin and John.

Gym Time in Year 4/5

Boys love to move. We find it hard to sit still, to be honest. So it's important for us to have a break from our learning, so we can continue to concentrate when we are learning.

So each day, we head off to the gymnasium (aka the middle space) to stay active while learning new skills ~ balancing, stretching, jumping. A special shout out  to Jaxon and Zane for organising these activities each day. Thanks boys, we are loving it!

Jumping Jigsaws!!

You know the old saying, 'two heads are better than one'? Well, we've been putting that to the test in the Year 4/5 classroom, trying to solve a crazy jigsaw puzzle (see below).

With everyone pitching in, I reckon we'll have it completed soon!

Year 1

In Year 1 we have been learning all about Australian animals in Literacy. We made these echidnas using paper plates and brown paint. We learnt that they have a long sticky tongue for catching ants because they can't open their mouths very wide.

Year Prep

Love is in the air! This week in Prep we spoke about Valentine's Day which was on Monday February 14th. When asked what Valentine's Day means, Rayzon confidently answered "Valentine's Day is a celebration of love!". We completed a craft activity where the students had to fill their hearts with red pieces of paper to complete the artwork, "I love you to pieces!". The students were very excited to go home and give their parents a Valentine's Day present.

NEW DISPLAY IN THE LIBRARY - 'ANIMAL PORTRAITS'

Today we have a new display in the Library; 'Animal Portraits', sure to capture the imagination of our students, especially those in years 4 to 6 who are currently learning to do their own 'self portraits' during art classes. Well known animals are dressed convincingly in human finery as various characters and identities, sure to bring amusement to our budding artists working on their own 'self portraits' currently.
