FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Mr. David Browne
This week we held two events to celebrate the achievements of our students. On Wednesday we were at the Mildura Arts Centre for the Year 7-11 Speech Night and Awards Presentation. It was wonderful to see families coming together once again to celebrate the achievements of our students throughout 2021.
You can watch a video of the award recipients on our Facebook Page here.
On Thursday night we were at Club Da Vinci to present our Year 12 graduating class of 2021 with their Year 12 Certificates, top study score medallions and our year 12 scholarship awards. Congratulations to Jackson Norris on being the Dux of Year 12 for our school this year.

Something like 40% of the world’s working population are making changes in their careers following the events of the past two years, and we are seeing the same in the education sector, with many schools seeing a staff changeover, including Red Cliffs. Taking up contract positions at other locations in 2022 we wish Suzie Oborne, Elise Thornton, Cath Banks and Jo Connelly all the very best and hope to see them return in 2023. Those with contracts finishing at the end of this year are Ally Pate, Greg Bartlett, Jacinta Rowles, John Taylor, Mel Maloney and Stan Pietsch – we thank them for their service to our school. Moving permanently to other schools we have Ben Tallent, Ilario Cavallo, Lewis Gunn, Nathan Riordan and Viki Currie. To these people, all the very best for your new home in education and thank you for your dedication to our school over many years. And finally, a special farewell to our Secondary School Nurse Julia Lohmeyer who after 12 years at our school and serving the nursing community in other locations previously is retiring. Your service and support as part of our wellbeing team Julia will be greatly missed and we wish you all the very best in the next chapter of your life.
I look forward to introducing to you our new staff in 2022, including David Purcell, Ziang Gao, Benjamin Cookney, Jake Anders, Carolyn Oswin, Danni Jones, Darren Le Gassick, Jenny Gilbert, Rick Hlasny, and others still to be finalised. An exciting new chapter in the history of Red Cliffs Secondary College is about to begin.
On behalf of the entire Red Cliffs Secondary College community I wish you and your family all the very best for a safe and enjoyable festive season and holidays. I look forward to working with you and your students in 2022. For those families whose journey with Red Cliffs Secondary College ends, all the very best for the future and I hope you take fond memories of your time at Reddy.
