From the Library
Welcome to the Syndal South Library for 2022!
All students will enjoy weekly classes in the library, where they will be encouraged to browse, read and borrow books. The library has a wonderful collection of current books, including picture books, fiction novels, joke & puzzle books, beginner readers and classic Australian literature.
Borrowing & Loan Limits
There is a 2 week loan period for all books, which can only be renewed once (if no other student has placed a HOLD on the item!). Students may borrow a total of the following number of books:
Foundation - Year 2: 2 Books (Foundation may only borrow 1 book in Term 1)
Year 3 - Year 4: 4 Books
Year 5 - Year 6: 6 Books (includes LIT SET books)
Overdues
Reminder notices are sent home weekly to families to assist with prompt return of school library resources. Please help your child locate and return their library books. Books can be returned in the RETURNS box in the library at anytime.
LOST/Missing Book Replacements
If any student damages, loses or cannot find their school library book, please notify their Class teacher or the Office via email as soon as possible. Lost and damaged books need to be replaced so we encourage families to make a NEW book or monetary donation to the school.
Book Donations
The school library gratefully accepts good condition children's book donations, so please consider sharing books your family no longer read or want with their school library.
Parent Help to Contact Covering New Books
The school library is always keen for volunteer parent helpers to assist with covering the new books throughout the year. Please contact the Office with your name and details and I will contact you personally - thank you in anticipation!
Scholastic LOOP Book Club
Syndal South PS Library runs the Scholastic LOOP Book Club, which earns rewards from each purchase made, to go towards new books for the school library. It is a great way to promote reading and books at home as well as support the school library. Books are a great GIFT for children, so please support LOOP in 2022.

All ONLINE orders from Issue 1 are due by 4 pm Friday 18th February 2022
