From the Principal's Desk

Mrs Michelle Barrett

Welcome to 2022!

It is wonderful to be back to Face-to-Face learning in 2022 and I am so pleased at the positive start our school community has made. Our community has really stepped up and we have had limited disruptions. A huge thank you must go out go to my supportive and positive staff. From packing Rapid Antigen tests (RATs), answering phones, wearing masks, and supporting students to wear their mask properly we are now able to focus on learning and getting the best out of every child in our school.

Great Community

Our parent body have been cooperative and engaged in the RAT program and the result has been minimal cases on school grounds. We thank you for your commitment to the program and the next lot of RAT’s will be distributed on Friday.

K-6 ZOOM Information Sessions

Our K-6 parents have also engaged in Zoom Information sessions with Primary teachers. The sessions outlined what each stage will be doing this term and although this was not the same as having parents attend in person, we had excellent engagement. Thank you, parents, and carers. I know our teachers were thrilled with the level of attendance.

                                                                                        P&C

We encourage our parents and carers to attend the next meeting which will be on Monday 28th February via ZOOM. The Annual General Meeting will be held at 6:30pm and this will be followed by the regular P&C meeting. The P&C are forming a Uniform Committee to assess how our school community feels about the current uniform and consider any changes. If you would like to be on that committee, please attend the meeting.

                                                                                        Class of 2022

A huge congratulations to the class of 2021. All students were successful at attaining their Higher School Certificate and several students will begin University this month. There were some excellent results overall and we will follow up on these students as the year progresses and give you an update on what they are doing.

                                                                                Welcome Kindergarten

We had an enthusiastic group of kindergarten students join Molong Central School last week and all seem to be settling in well. Our Kindergarten teachers have been on their toes, but they wouldn’t have it any other way. It is amazing to watch the kindergarten children progress in the first few weeks of school. Thank you as well to our parents some of whom continue to support their children attending school. Remember, if you have question, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher, Mrs Simpson, or phone the office on 63668224 for support.

                                                                                  Welcome to High School

We also welcomed a delightful group of young people into Year 7 not just from Molong Central School but from other smaller schools in our area and they seem to be connecting well with each other and their teachers. I have heard nothing but praise to date about our incoming students and as the new students to the Molong Central Community become more confident in their new setting many new peer relationships will emerge.

7-12 will engage in evidence based mental health strategies through the Resilience Project in 2022 to build resilience and happiness. Our Year Advisors supported by Head Teachers will deliver the program during scheduled year meetings. There will be opportunities for parents to get involved as well through parent seminars and we will inform you of these opportunities as they present.

ISLP Team

This year students will continue to be provided with opportunities to improve numeracy and literacy skills and our ISLP team will be working closely with students in small groups. Our team comprises of

Ms Sullivan

Ms Bowman

The ISLP team have been analysing data and completed professional learning so they can offer students an opportunity to excel in numeracy and literacy. If your child is selected to be part of these small group tuition opportunities, I encourage you to support your child’s engagement. We will inform families involved of this opportunity shortly.
