Wanganui On Show
Our end of year Awards night, ‘Wanganui On Show’, will take place on Thursday 15th December at Eastbank. It is a wonderful opportunity for our College to recognise many of our talented students and also showcase drama, music and dance performances. All are welcome to attend the evening, the ceremony starts at 7.30pm and we ask that people be seated by 7.15. If you would like further information please contact the school office.
We will be notifying our award winners by email and for those without current email addresses, by regular mail. We do try to give award recipients and their families as much notice as possible. It would be wise to keep this night free. Everyone is welcome to be part of the audience to enjoy a great night highlighting what wonderful things our students have achieved.
Sponsorship
The Awards ceremony would not be possible without support from a number of local businesses, individuals and organisations who sponsor our Community Awards. We value the ongoing commitment they show to our College and to our students.

Construction Works - Corner Brauman & Packham Streets
A roundabout will be constructed at this intersection beginning December 12 and finishing end January 2017. There will be no access to the back of the school at this time, Packham Street (north of Brauman Street) will be closed to traffic at this time.
Entry to the school will be via Parkside Drive only. Brauman Street/Parkside Drive will remain open but delays are to be expected.
Canteen Changes
In 2017 we will be making some changes to our Canteen. To maintain a viable Canteen we have been through a process of seeking expressions of interest to outsource our canteen operations. As a result of this we have appointed H & H Canteens who will provide these services to Wanganui. Many aspects of the canteen will remain the same or very similar. Menu items will have many of the current items plus a new range of exciting options for our students at both recess and lunch. Online ordering will be introduced as well as the ability to pay by EftPos. Once our summer menu for 2017 is finalised this will be published on our website, including new prices.
We wish to thank our staff and volunteers for their support of our canteen over many years and we now look forward to this new phase.
Ex Student making his way.......
This is Simon Northey, who graduated from Wanganui back in 2009. He’s been super busy in the years since then, immersing himself in the world of film and video production. Simon has produced, directed and been involved in a number of short films and, most recently, worked as a Boom Operator for the feature film, The Legend of Ben Hall.
Simon was always a passionate and driven participant in Media classes at Wanganui. It’s wonderful to see our students pursuing their passions out in the world and we hope that we've given them experiences and skills that have helped them on their way. We’d like to congratulate Simon for his ongoing achievements and look forward to being the audience for future, “Joyce Northey” films.
The Legend of Ben Hall is still screening in a few cinemas in Melbourne and the DVD is released in April.
