2017 Swimming Carnival!

MCC Swimming Carnival
Friday, March 3rd presented with ideal weather for our annual Swimming Carnival, held at the Irymple Pools. Mr Jackson put together a great program for the older Primary and Secondary students which included kick-board and noodle races, and the Ironman/Ironwoman event which attracted entries from all age groups. Mrs Carter ran a fun-filled afternoon of activities for our ABCs and Aleph students. Thank you to the parents who literally 'jumped in' to help!
Several records were broken on the day (some of them by several seconds!). Thank you to the parents, family and friends who joined us with your picnic lunches and cheering the students on! Many thanks go to Mrs Deroon and Mrs Cobden for cooking the BBQ lunch, and to our wonderful Canteen Mums who stepped in to serve up the sausages and burgers with a smile and a word of encouragement to our students (not to mention the yummy 'canteen tester' treats they passed around)!
The day finished off with our legendary relay races and the big one - students versus staff! Even with a full day of racing behind them, the students put up a great effort, but in the end the staff managed to hold the relay title for another year thanks to our great team including Mr Jackson, Mr Joel, Mr Herman and Miss Jasper!
Congratulations to the House Captains for encouraging and supporting your team's involvement and a big thank you to Amy for baking several batches of brownies to share with everyone! Everyone must wait with bated breath until Term Tea on Thursday, 30th March to find out which House won!!
Ribbon presentations will take place at assembly on Tuesday morning, March 14 from 8:50am. Everyone welcome!
Mr Herman once again captured some great moments - enjoy the gallery of photos!
