In only his second season of sailing his 420 (which is the training class for the 470 Olympic class), James had a fantastic result finishing 4th overall in the 7 race regatta - only 4 points behind the current National Champion.
Congratulations on this wonderful achievement James and we wish you continued success in the upcoming National Championships.
NATIONAL LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIPS
During the September holidays, Jess Strudwick and Zo-Ellen Stannus (both in Year 9) represented Victoria at the Under 15 National Lacrosse Championships held in Victoria. Jess was in the Fire Team and Zoe-Ellen in the Ice Team and they played against other state teams and New Zealand.
After an intensive week of competition, Jess' Fire Team won the Grand Final against South Australia and Zo-Ellen's Ice Team finished third. Congratulations girls, on your selection in the National side and your success in the tournament.
EXTRACURRICULAR PROGRAM AT COLLEGE OF LAW AT VICTORIA UNIVERSITY
Ryan O'Donnell (Year 9) was involved in an extracurricular program within the College of Law and Justice at Victoria University over the September holidays. Here, he observed The Hon Michael Kirby Contract Law Moot on 29 September 2015. Mooting is essentially a mock court trial, arbitration or mediation session held before, and judged by, industry leaders.
Ryan arranged this opportunity himself and the team at Victoria University were very impressed with his efforts and his "capacity to grasp legal concepts to a degree which is frankly beyond his years". They acknowledged that he had given up his own time on the holidays to attend the session in his school uniform.
Congratulations, Ryan, on seeking out such an incredible opportunity and setting in motion future possibilities.
TAP IN THE FAMILY!
Matthew James (Year 12) and Chloe James (Year 9) recently undertook their Southern Federation of Dance Tap exams. Matthew passed and received "Commendation" in Level 9 and Chloe passed and received "Honours" in Level 8 Tap.
Congratulations to both of you on this achievement!
