ASIA WEEK 2015

This year McKinnon Secondary College celebrated the 21st Asia Week which occurred during the last week of Term 3.

The week's main purpose is to focus on Asian cultures and includes a wide variety of fun activities such as: staff dress-ups, food stalls and cooking classes, Asian games and sports, as well as a Bollywood workshop for the Year 7s which was very popular.

Staff enjoyed various Asian cuisines such as Indian, Chinese and Japanese, and the Year 8s enjoyed a self-defence class. Various lunchtime activities were held throughout the week: Henna hand painting, Karaoke and Manga. Students were given the opportunity of trying various Asian cuisines such as samosas, sushi, spring rolls and falafels. Overall, it was an enjoyable week and would not have been possible without the hard work of Mrs Nayyar and the staff.

Year 11 & 12 Book Returns 10am – 2pm: Monday 23 November
Year 11 & 12 Book Returns 10am – 2pm: Tuesday 24 November
Year 11 Book Returns 10am – 2pm: Wednesday 25 November
Year 10 Book Returns 10am – 2pm: Monday 30 November
Year 9 & 10 Book Returns 10am – 2pm: Tuesday 1 December
Year 9 Book Returns 10am – 2pm Wednesday 2 December
Year 8 Book Returns All Day: Friday 4 December
Year 7 Book Returns All Day: Monday 7 December

The dates for selling Second Hand books are as follows:

Years 11 & 12: Thursday 26 November at 8am - 12pm & 2pm - 7pm
·Years 9 & 10: Thursday 3 December at 8am - 12pm & 2pm - 7pm
Years 7 & 8: Tuesday 8 December at 8am - 12pm & 2pm - 7pm

On Wednesday 9 December Year 7 & 8 are to Pick Up Unsold Books from L01 & L02.

If you have any space time from Thursday 19 November to Wednesday 9 December, you may like to consider volunteering. All volunteers get first pick of text books they need. If you wish to volunteer please contact Joanne Robinson at booksale@mckinnonsc.vic.edu.au.
