Kingston Libraries - BIG Summer Read

The BIG Summer Read is a reading challenge program/competition designed to keep kids reading over the summer period while they are not at school. The program starts today, 1 December 2022 and runs through to 31 January 2023. 

The challenge is open to children and youth who can read independently (at whatever level is appropriate for them) aged 5 to 16. They need to read ten books over the 2 months for their chance to win major prizes such as a Nintendo Switch Lite, a movie voucher, a Museums Victoria annual family membership, Westfield voucher, book shop vouchers, Waves Leisure centre swim passes and books. It's a little incentive to keep them reading which will hopefully reduce the so called ‘summer slide’ in their reading skills.
