Week 1 Term 1 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the 2023 school year. What a wonderful start we have had to the Term. We welcome all the returning families back to St Bede's as well as those families joining us this year for the first time this year. I hope 2023 is a year full of learning opportunities that challenge us to be the best learners we can be.
There was great excitement amongst our Prep students on their first day. They were all proud to be wearing the St Bede's uniform. One of the students was overheard saying "School is like kinder but more fun"
Our New Staff
Below are picture of our new staff. I know you will make them feel welcome. If you get the opportunity please introduce yourself to them.
Amanda Ferguson ( Admin)
Maddi Durrant Yr 2
Jessica Marchio Yr 1
Yr 5/6 Camp
Our Yr 5/6 Camp to Canberra is quickly approaching ( week 3) There is a parent meeting next Tuesday afternoon at 2.15pm in the Jarrow room. If you can not attend in person there will also be a google meeting link sent home on Monday so that you can attend online.
Parent /Teacher /Student meetings
Our Parent/Teacher/Student getting to know you meetings will be held next Tuesday. Unfortunately PTO is unavailable at the moment so each classroom teacher has sent a google document to all families to complete. Please be careful not to delete any other families off the sheets. These meetings are a great opportunity for parents to share any relevant information with their child's classroom teacher.
Cyber Safety Evening.
Mr McFarlane our Wellbeing leader has sent out an invitation to all families in Yrs 3-6 to our Cyber safety evenings. We are asking that at least one adult and the student attend the evening. Kate Wilde is a wonderful presenter and you will gain much knowledge form the evening. After these sessions the Chromebooks will then be distributed to all students.
Student Supervision
A reminder to our community that the school gates do not open to 8.25am ( when supervision commences). I ask that no children are here before this time as staff are preparing for the day. If you need supervision in the morning the school does provide before and after school care. ( Camp Australia)
Have a great week
Brian
