Head of Students News

Mr Peter Serone

Welcome to the new Pastoral Team Staff

I would like to formally welcome our new staff who have taken on specific roles in 2023 for the care, well-being, and pastoral care of our students:

  • Primary Pastoral Leader – Mr Anthony Graham
  • Head of House Slattery – Mr Michael Abbott
  • Head of House Foley – Ms Julia Wilken
  • Head of House Ignatius – Mr Gareth Kolkenbeck-Ruh
  • Pastoral Leader Middle school – Mr Craig Milligan
  • Pastoral Leader Senior school – Mr Phillip Holding

The positions of Pastoral Leader Middle and Senior school are new to the College. Craig and Phil’s roles have specific responsibilities that connect to year groups including organisation of year group camps, guest speakers and the ASH wellbeing program.

Including myself, the three of us will be aiding our pastoral leaders in all areas of welfare including discipline. The Head of College Mr Newman has asked that the three of us work as a team when dealing with behavioural issues and therefore parents may receive contact from either of us. This has also been explained to the students today at assembly.

Closure of the Student Absentee phone line

During 2022 the parent lounge was made accessible for parents to indicate student absentees for all day absences, early departures and late arrivals. Throughout the year in newsletter communication, it was mentioned that the absentee phone line would cease. This is now the case.

Parents are now required to advise the College of student absentees in writing via the Parent Lounge on the College App or Parent Portal.

If a student needs to leave the College during the day or is arriving late, parents must notify the College in writing via the Parent Portal using the College App or Parent Lounge.

The use of the parent lounge will allow you to provide more detail of your son’s absence.

Student absences can be notified through the parent lounge/student details/attendance.  If using the App, click on the four squares at the top left of screen/attendance.
