I would like to acknowledge the achievements and successes of all the Year 12 students of 2022. Our Year 12 students have faced many challenges this year and have demonstrated maturity, pride and diligence.

As a school we are immensely proud of the young people here and we thoroughly enjoyed the celebration of their journeys and successes at the Graduation Ceremony.  We genuinely look forward to hearing the stories of progress and accomplishments and hope to see them again in the years to come.

Many students from years gone by attended the Graduation Ceremony, including some who presented awards. Awards were presented to many, but the rewards start when the students move on, move up and achieve their own goals, meet their own challenges and succeed.

We also had the pleasure of seeing our new student leaders after being elected for their roles as 2023 year 12 Prefects.  These students are Travis Freeguard, Jackson Conti, Dakota Dalton, Matilda Steinhoff, Charlotte Brown and Tahlia Schinzig.  I am very pleased to see so many capable and determined students put themselves forward for election and wish the successful prefects the best for their roles in 2023.

Year 10 Tour

As one cohort of students move on, we take the Year 10 students on Tour, an industry awareness tour in the South West.  We leave at 8:00 for Albany to visit Afgri and Elders before heading to Manjimup and Dwellingup later in the day.

On the Friday of Study tour, we can arrange to drop students off with families in:

Dwellingup approx. 8-8:30AM

Williams approx. 10:00AM

Kojonup approx. 11:20

Mt Barker approx. 12:30

We will aim for these times, but they may vary.

Please contact us to make the required arrangements for collection.  Staff will be available for contact at any point in the week on the School Mobile Number: 0428 480 207

In our Metals and Engineering areas we are preparing for the delivery of the new CNC plasma cutter. Mr Toon, Mr Matson and I visited Gentronics in Welshpool to inspect, access professional learning and test the machine before delivery. We learnt a lot and can see the student experience in this area set to ramp up to new levels.

Exams and Final Assessments

Many of our students completed ATAR examinations for Animal Production Systems, Plant Production Systems, Mathematics Applications, Biology and English in early November. Other students completed their final assessments in general areas.  Its fair to say it’s been a tricky year for some but overall, we have once again seen great success and progress.

The students and their teachers have spent a great deal of time planning, revising and completing assessments over recent weeks. Best wishes to the students and thank you to all of our teachers for your dedication and hard work over the past 12 months.

Semester Two Reports

Teachers and trainers have now finalised assessments, subject/course results are in and we are now able to  start reporting for our Year 10 and 11 students. Semester Two reports will be emailed home at the end of the school year. I encourage parents with enquires and/or concerns with their child’s report to make contact with the teaching staff via email or telephone at the start of the 2023 school year.

Finally, as the 2022 College year draws to an end I wish all members of the College Community a relaxing, enjoyable and safe Christmas break.
