Year 12’s

The recent Year 12 Leavers event was an impressive experience. In my opinion and also from feedback the College received, it is certainly an event that we can be proud of. We farewell all year 12’s who have achieved a range of personal and academic achievements.

It was pleasing to also see so many students across Year 10-12 being acknowledged for various achievements.

Subject Selections

Current Year 10 and 11 students have now placed their preferences for courses and subjects for 2023. Our plan is to accommodate student choice as best as possible. We look forward to the various opportunities that become available with enabling more choice for students.

Work Experience / Woolhandling

Some Year 11 students completed Certificate III in Advance Woolhandling which was coordinated by Mr Schultz and Mr Scahill. This is an ongoing activity run each year and supported by South Regional TAFE and their personnel who have been working with students this week. Mr Schultz has been a great support for the students while they completed Certificate II Woolhandling to prepare them for the advanced program.

Most Year 11 students have been on Work Experience recently and again we are proud of their efforts. Feedback from employers has been outstanding. The College and programs are highly regarded in ability to prepare students for employment. Thanks to parents for their support and thanks to Ms Lockyer for her high professionalism in ensuring students and employers are supported in engaging in work experience. It is great that staff have been visiting students across various parts of our local region and Perth.

School Reports

Staff are in the process of completing school reports for Year 11’s and providing Year 10’s opportunities to confirm end of year grades, with the remaining tests and assessment tasks.

School reports are due to be issued at some stage in the last week of this term. This is an opportunity for students to reflect on feedback issued by staff via comments and the attributes. I would suggest that after reading these at the end of this year that students review them again the week before classes commence in 2023.

Summary

I would like to congratulate staff, students and parents. Although I have only been at the College for  a short period of time I have been amazed with the wonderful opportunities and experiences offered to students. I look forward to working with students, parents and staff when we return in the new year.
