Connie

Hi everyone,

My name is Connie and I am one of the 2022 year 5 teachers. I have been teaching at Epping Views for 7 years. Most of you probably know me as the Italian teacher but I have taught in classrooms across the whole school from prep to year 6!

I live locally with my husband David and my two kids, Charlotte and William, who also attend Epping Views Primary School, and our dog Ariel. In my spare time I like to read. I have read over 100 books this year. My favourite books for this year have been “Lessons in Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus and “Malibu Rising” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I also like to exercise and I like to play board games with my family. We can get pretty competitive and the kids love it when they can beat me! Our favourite game to play is any version of Monopoly, of which we have many!

Hello EVPS community!

I’m Matthew Bakes and this is my second year at Epping Views. In both my years at EVPS I have been lucky enough to be part of the Year 3 team, working with some fantastic teachers and making some great connections.

My partner and I are expecting our first child early next year so my guilty habit of binging The Office when I get home has been replaced with researching strollers, baby monitors, and car seats. 

When I take a break from the deep dive into newborn essentials I enjoy re-watching the 2022 Grand Final, and heading to the beach with my partner and our dog Norman. Watching him bark at waves is usually the highlight. In his eyes, the only thing waves are good for is to disrupt an otherwise relaxing trip to the beach.
