Friday the 9th of December (tomorrow) will be our last assembly for 2022. We would like to invite all our families to come along to see all the acknowledgments and listen to the years recap. Afterwards we will be hosting a morning tea for all those parents and carers who helped out volunteering during the year, we couldn't run our excursions and camps without you. Thank you!
Student reports will be electronically sent out through compass to families next week. Staff have finalised all of their testing, input all of the marks and commentary and have peer reviewed other classes reports. From me to all of the staff I want to say thanks for all of your work in ensuring the student reports are a celebration of the children's work over the 2022 school year.
Next Wednesday our whole school will be showcasing a musical performance, Let It Shine. We hope you can join us in the undercover area at 11am. All classes have been practicing hard and look forward to spotting a familiar face in the crowd watching on.
Classes this week have really been getting into the Christmas spirit. The classrooms are beginning to fill up with decorations that the students themselves are making. It's all looking really colorful.
Foodworks are running their annual collection of goods for people in need over the festive season. Donations of non-expired and unopened food can be made in store. Every item helps, no matter the size or quantity.
This week the Kinder students, as part of our 2023 Prep transition program attended our school on Monday as 1 big group. Its was great to see some very happy future students exploring the school with some year 5 buddies on a treasure hunt. The students will visit again on Friday as part of our formal transition program. All students will participate in a state wide transition day on Tuesday the 13th December.
This week I was able to catch up with Justin Hanlon who is redeveloping a interior section of the BER Building. The new space will be completed and ready for use at the start of the 2023 school year. Thanks to Justin for his work in this time where building is very challenging on many fronts.
Ben Truen will be completing the annual gutter cleaning and some Arborist work on our school site. This work is a part of the Department of Educations annual Bushfire Prevention program.
I was also able to catch up with the School Council's Buildings and Grounds Committee plus Gentile steel fabrication around the extension of the bike shed storage are. It is hoped that we will be able to do a 16m x 4m chain meshed verandah attached to the western side. Thanks to Scott Beeton and Tori Thomas who are leading this project on behalf of the School Council.
