Flora & Fauna

As our Flora and Fauna program comes to an end for 2022, we take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt ‘thanks’ to our parents/carers who have volunteered their time to assist in the Gallery or in our gardens. We appreciate all the help received!

COOKING: Students have been making ‘White Christmas’ for our final rotation and we hope you enjoyed the gift-wrapped treat (if it made it home!). We would like to acknowledge the wonderful work that Mrs O’Keefe has done for us this year in developing, preparing and making all those amazing recipes!

GARDENING: We have been busy planting rosemary, snow peas and pumpkin seedlings in the final few weeks and look forward to reaping the rewards. Students have also been busy weeding and digging new garden beds near the olive grove at the Verdale entrance. We would like to acknowledge Paddy for all the hard work he puts in to prepare for our Gardening lessons and for engaging our students with planting and harvesting!

SUSTAINABILITY: Our Sustainable School – Poster Showcase! Students are being given the opportunity to demonstrate all that they have learned this year and posters will be in their Flora and Fauna scrap book for viewing when they bring them home at the end of the year.

SCIENCE: Fauna: Endangered and Extinct animals. Students have been learning about endangered and extinct animals and their work can be found on Seesaw.

We wish you happy holidays and thank you again for your support!
