Physical Education 2022! 

 

We are both incredibly proud of how students have enthusiastically embraced opportunities in Physical Education this year. They have demonstrated teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship and leadership, whilst (most importantly) having fun, during a wide range of lessons and sporting events. 

Highlights 

TERM 1 

At our new Run Club, up to 300 students attended on Tuesday and Thursday mornings! 

Level 4 and 5 students participated in a water safety program at Aquanation. 

Level 6 students enjoyed an open water learning experience at Hampton Beach. 

At our district swimming meet, students represented our school with pride. A particular highlight was our Level 3/4 girls’ 4x50m freestyle relay team achieving 3rd place! 

SEDA cricket clinics helped to reinforce students’ hand-eye coordination, during a range of fun activities. 

Our whole school House Cross Country event gave all students the opportunity to run for Arbor, Hydro, Solar and Terra Houses. Congratulations to the winning team, Hydro! 

At our House Athletics carnival at Bill Sewart Reserve, students participated in range of events that they had been training for throughout the term. Hydro were once again, the overall winning team on the day! 

 

TERM 2 

Training, training, training (!) for the Nunawading District Cross Country event at Ruffey Lake Park. Our team’s efforts paid off, as Rangeview won this event and several students progressed to divisional and then regional levels. Special congratulations to Jack and Collette on qualifying and competing at the SSV State Cross Country Championships! 

The Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) helped our Foundation students improve their eye/hand and eye/foot coordination, fitness, balance, locomotion and eye-tracking skills. 

Level 1/ 2 students developed their basketball skills during clinics held this term. 

Level 5/6 participated in two winter interschool sport days. Our mixed netball team progressed to Division. 

At Netball Victoria’s School Championships, our boys’ and girls’ teams played in a round robin and advanced to the finals!  

 

TERM 3 

Approximately 160 of our Level 3-6 students enjoyed participating in Basketball Victoria’s Hoop Time round tournament. Two of our teams progressed to the regional finals. 

At the Nunawading District Athletics competition, our students placed third overall. 

Our Level 5/6 girls’ football team enjoyed playing at the Whitehorse Division Gala Day. 

Our Level 5/6 Boys team made the State Grand Final of the Netball Schools Championship. 

Level 5/6 participated in two summer interschool sport days. Our boys’ basketball and softball teams progressed to Division. 

Students enjoyed our traditional whole school Billy Cart Day! 

 

TERM 4 

The Junior Athletics Day gave our F-2 students the opportunity to participate in a range of athletics activities, run by our Level 6 leaders. Congratulations to Arbor! The day ended with the traditional House Captains’ egg toss.  

We had 27 students compete at the Whitehorse Division Athletics event, with 7 advancing to regional level. Cody placed third overall in triple jump at Regionals. 

Our Level 3/4 mixed and Level 5/6 boys’ teams reached the Hoop Time state finals. 

Players from South east Melbourne Phoenix (NBL) visited our school. 

Level 5/6 students participated in a Battleball Gala Day, ‘House Cup’ and the Staff versus Students netball game. 

 

We would like to acknowledge and thank the Rangeview parents for supporting our Physical Education program this year.  

Thank you also, to our wonderful House Captains - Cody, Suranjana, Jake, Ryan, Scarlett, Jack, Leo and Mikayla.
