An Advent Reflection

Although we live in 2022, we celebrate the people close to that first Christmas. By reflecting on how Christ's love came to them, we can embody their graciousness and ask their help as we live our Advent. It is important, of course, to be gracious as we welcome Jesus who never changes.

Fourth Week of Advent Liturgy

Please join the school community in celebrating the Fourth Week of Advent Liturgy in the hall on Friday 16th December at 9:05a.m. The Year 2 students will be leading the liturgy with the theme LOVE.

The fourth purple Advent candle represents love. Love is a gift; a gift from God. At Christmas time, Christians believe that God's greatest gift of love was Jesus, the Saviour of the world. The fourth candle is also known as the Angel's Candle. It represents the messengers who announced the birth of the Messiah.

The fourth candle has great significance surrounding the theme of love as is often found in the Bible. Just like in the Gospel of John we hear: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

 John 13:34-35

A Prayer for Love at Christmas Time:

Father God, thank you for your generous love to me.

Thank you that you see the abundance in my life rather than all my shortfalls.

Help me to offer that same gracious love to those I mingle with this Christmas season. Pour your love into my heart so I can give it away.

May they know I am a follower of Jesus by my love.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Christmas Hampers

Thank you to those families who have generously donated food and other items for the Christmas Hampers.  We are truly blessed with a community who genuinely demonstrates the importance of Catholic Social Teaching in our midst during this festive season.

These food and gift filled hampers will be given to the St Vincent de Paul Society so that others in our community can benefit.

Thank you to the Mini Vinnies who assisted with their collection.

Christmas Blessings

I would like to take this opportunity in wishing all our students and their families a very happy and blessed Christmas.

Take care of one another and return to the St Therese's family, rested, healthy and well in 2023. May the new year also be one of prosperity and happiness.

God Bless.
