In the final weeks of 2022 it has been pleasing to see students engaging in the Head Start program in the Senior Hub. Students have been committing to their studies with enthusiasm and shown great adaptability in learning the new timetable! We look forward to what 2023 will bring with such a fantastic group of young people!
A warm welcome to our new Year 10 students as they begin their journey in the senior hub.
On Thursday 20232 Year 11 students completed their final day at our College for the year with a study program.
Students were allocated into groups and each group rotated through different activities over the course of the 5-session day.
Today 130 Students 2023 Year 11students finished the Headstart program with a trip to Gumbuya World. Staff and students enjoyed a day of fun on the water slides, rides and visiting the wildlife. It was a great opportunity to celebrate a year of hard work!
2023 Year 11 students have been studying time in their VCE Psychology class.
What is Time? The meaning of time is a construct by humans to be able to measure aspects of our lives. Named for the Greek god of time, Chronos, we have developed a system to give time meaning.
Students used Minute-To-Win-It activities to explore time perception.
2023 Year 11 students have been busy in the Hospitality Centre with their first practical. The students made a crusty mixed-seed loaf. For most of our students this was their first experience cooking in the Hospitality Centre’s commercial kitchen, they also had to learn how to use a gas oven. The students worked very well, they were enthusiastic and their breads were very yummy.
On the last night of the 2023 Year 12 camp staff and students enjoyed a formal evening at Lakewood park. Staff and students took the opportunity to dress up for the evening. The students enjoyed a sit down meal, dancing and lots of fun, they even managed to get the staff up on the dance floor.
Thanks to Lincoln and Bess for helping decorate the Christmas tree.
The new VCE Vocational Major students have settled into their new routines and have been enjoying a taste of the applied or hands on approach to learning. This week as a taster the students participated in 'mini projects' which were aimed to assist students with understanding the process of Planning, Organising, Undertaking and Reviewing.
The projects included designing art and technology projects, baking afternoon tea and planting the garden beds adjacent to the new outdoor classroom. We are looking forward to 2023 and seeing what major events and projects will evolve.
