Principal's Message

Good afternoon …… and yes, we have almost made it to the end of the 2022 year. But, as is always the case, we run frantically to the end trying to finish well and plan for the best possible start to 2023.

This coming Monday will be an exciting day for all of our 2022 Year 12 VCE students as the ATAR scores are released.

Then, the process of university offers occurs and I know that the careers counselling team will be 'flat out' supporting students, with applications, change of preferences and more. Good luck to all – I know that I am eagerly awaiting the outcomes. Plus of course I get to inform the Dux of VCE and the DUX of VCAL, of their success. (that’s a fun part of my job!)

The roll over into the next year level has gone really well – we are super happy with it. The new timetable for students, plus the new 5 session structure has gone really well, there have been some errors that we have fixed and quickly sorted out and we are pretty much at 100%! The work done by the Whole School Organisation team has really been quite remarkable, great job and thanks!

Presentation night is Thursday 15th December 2022. This is a fabulous opportunity for the entire College community to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students, from Year 7 through to Year 12. We will also be seeing the 'passing of the batten' from the current College Captains to the 'new'.

This time of year always brings staff moving away from our College to another chapter. This can vary between a new school, to retirement, to new opportunities.

This year we farewell: Terrie Crowe, Tim Jarrett, John Hudson, Chris Taylor, John Smith, Kees Dogger, David Ballantyne, Michael Cassidy, Rachel Short, Madeline Clark, Ellie Baker, Arwa Pishori, Tracey Rendell and Lorry Kemp.

We of course wish them all well and will be recognising their contribution to our College in a formal way at the end of the year.

We will be welcoming on board in 2023: Chloe Pama, Kym Brand, Connor McMahon, Lucy Wells, Samantha McGregor, Caitlyn Sharp, Sarah Caddie, Ashley Jarvis, Ilsé Botha, Ally Orr and Amy Robertson. (Plus, we still have a couple of positions 'in the wind')

I just want to say thanks very much to all staff, students and families involved in our broader community. When we have around 1300 people per day on site there is always something happening, and no day is ever dull. The challenges that face our College every year are significant, the greatest challenge being to constantly deliver a first class education to every student, every day. So I thank you all for your efforts.

Please remain safe across the holiday period and enjoy the chance to relax and be with family.

I look forward to all that we can achieve together in 2023.

Thanks for reading!
