Term One Parent Overviews
Our teaching staff have created term overviews to provide each of our families with a snapshot into the learning that will be taking place at Holy Spirit, in Term One.
Please take some time to read your child's/children's overviews.
Parent Teacher Meet & Greets
Our Parent-Teacher Meet and Greet conferences will take place on Wednesday 15th February from 1:30pm. These conferences will be held online via Google Meet and will be 10minutes in duration.
For booking information, please see Dojo (a post from Kate). If you are unable to attend these conferences, please contact your child's classroom teacher to organise a different mutually agreeable time.
Each family will receive a Google Meet link (via Dojo) to access your child's conference from your child's classroom teacher closer to the day. Please use this link to access your Google Meet Parent-Teacher Conference.
A few helpful tips to ensure these conferences run as smoothly as possible:
- enter your conference at the correct time scheduled
- use the correct link sent by the correct classroom teacher
- you may be asked to wait to be let in - don't panic, your child's classroom teacher may be finalising the conference scheduled before yours
- do not use your child's Holy Spirit account
Students will be dismissed at 1:00pm on this day and Extend will be made available for those who may need to access this resource.
Classroom Information Videos
Our classroom teachers are creating information videos outlining level specific information about your child’s Holy Spirit journey in 2023. These videos will be shared with you, via Dojo, to view. There will also be a Google Form link attached which will allow you to ask any additional information that may not have been covered in the video.
Classroom Open Days
As this is the first year with little to no restrictions after COVID, we are working hard to increase our parent engagement within the school. To go alongside our Information Videos, we would like to invite you to visit your child's/children's classroom environments with the best tour guide ever - your child!
Our classrooms will be open from 2:50pm - 3:20pm, in Week Four, to the parents of that class. The dates of our Open Classrooms are as follows:
- Monday 20th February - 1/2 classrooms
- Tuesday 21st February - Prep classrooms
- Tuesday 21st February - 5/6 classrooms
- Thursday 23rd February - 3/4 classrooms
We understand that these dates may not be suitable to all of our parents, but do hope as many parents are able to visit our classrooms during this time.
Hopefully we will be able to have our parents and school community in our classrooms throughout the year.
Library
You may have noticed that our Library has a new home. It is now located in the old Multimedia Room (the building near the courts and Duncan's crossing).
Our students will continue to visit our library space on a weekly basis to borrow, learn and read for pleasure. Please see your child's/children's classroom routine for their library borrowing day.
Trish works in the library on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to assist our staff and students with borrowing procedures and the general upkeep of our library.
The Library will be open to our families, before school, on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week, from 8:35 - 8:50am. You are welcome to visit Trish in the library to read with your child or borrow a book.
