14-27 School News

Middle and Secondary Years

It has been a busy couple of weeks all around the school. Students, staff and families enjoyed the colour run-out on playground 6. There are so many great photos of this event it was hard to choose some for the newsletter. Be sure to check your child’s seesaw for more pictures. It was great to see some of the families joining in on the fun, happy to get as colourful as we were. Staff and students came in their white t-shirts and pants so that the coloured powders stood out brightly on the day. There was an obstacle course set out on the walkway around playground 6. There were 4 colour stations that squirted different coloured powders at everyone as they ran past.  Thanks to Ben and Will for organising this day. It was enjoyed by all.

This week we celebrated football day. Students came dressed in their favourite team’s colours. Some classes took their students out to kick the football around and work on football skills. Some classes completed football-themed activities such as crosswords, colouring, and creating tissue paper collage uniforms in art. Students and staff were able to share the teams that they go for with many cheers and some gentle boos as the day progressed.  Students really enjoyed their football lunches of pies, sausage rolls and hotdogs. This is always a highlight of football day. Thank you to the Fundraising Committee Parents who came in to help make football day a success for everyone.

RU OK day saw our student leaders wearing their bright yellow RU OK day t-shirts to remind everyone to check in with others to make sure they are OK. Our student leaders put up posters around the school with ways to check in with people and how to help others. Staff celebrated RU OK with a decorated staffroom, treats and badges and wristbands to wear. It is important to check in with people to see if they are ok regularly. Over the holidays take time to check in with your family, neighbours and friends. Make time to visit and spend time with others. It is great for our students to learn how to look after others.

VCAL has been very busy working on their project this year. It has been wonderful visiting the room to see their Tie Dye creations which they have been making. T-Shirts and pillowcases will be available to buy next term.

Have a safe and restful holiday and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 4.

Congratulations

JSA would like to formally congratulate one of our very own students for earning their licence, Memphis Sette.

Well done Memphis!
