As we have moved towards the end of Term 3, we have had some fun and engaging days that the whole school has enjoyed. On Friday 2nd September, our Health and Physical Education specialist teachers organised a 'Colour Run' for our whole school. Each sub-school was allocated a session to move through an obstacle course while being sprayed with a rainbow of colour. The bright colours were a spectacular sight!

Tuesday 6th September was R U OK Day. It was another spectacular day- this time with yellow T-shirts and yellow crafts splashed across the school. Each Student Leader was given a yellow 'R U OK' T-shirt to wear. Students experienced asking and listening to the question "Are you okay?' Students engaged in some learning about how to ask for help and express emotions, using their Augmentative Alternate Communication (AAC), if needed.  Some classrooms made some bright yellow crafts in their specialist Art class to celebrate the day.

On Wednesday, we had our Footy Day celebration, with a special 'Footy Lunch' offered to students. Some students wore their team colours and decorated their classrooms with ribbons and balloons. Another great day was enjoyed at JSA!

In between all the celebrations, our students have achieved some great success in the classroom. It is always a highlight of my day to walk into classrooms and see students engaged with their work activities.

Many thanks to parents and students for helping to make Term 3 a great term. I wish all families an enjoyable break from the school routine, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Term 4.

Room 4

Room 4 has enjoyed doing lots of fun activities in Term 3. In morning circle, we have been learning about the calendar, dates, seasons and indicating our feelings. We have had a focus on activities involving counting, adding, subtracting, and collecting data in mathematics. In literacy, students have enjoyed listening to phonics songs, reading books including Milo’s Birthday Surprise, playing bingo and using the letter tiles to make letter sounds and words. In humanities, we have been learning about different places in the community. Students have participated in activities such as pretend shops and making collages of their favourite places. We have lots of fun learning personal and social skills through social play, games and in our personal and social lessons.

Other highlights have included visiting the garden and making food in the kid's kitchen,  participating in the colour run and exploring instruments in music.
